If Aladdin’s Wonderful Lamp could work wonders not only in the “The Tales of One Thousand and One Nights”, but also in our reality, then we could learn the Arabic language in no time at all. Language learning is not yet that simple, so why not undertake dreamlike journeys to learn a language, learn to overcome the first blunders you make because of the language, ask yourself the questions which, simultaneously, a foreign culture and a foreign language present for you, make the first holiday friendships which, over distances, must be nurtured like flowers in order to blossom. If you could wish for the command of a language within seconds, like the bewitching Genie, then many things would be different to the way they are now.
The beauty of a language study trip abroad begins right when you start to plan it, when you picture it, how you stroll down to the beach after classes in order to sip a refreshing cocktail whilst watching the sunset and then sink down into the sand until the sun appears bright red or when you take on an adventurous journey to a foreign culture, in which, from the outset, everything seems upside down, from sleeping habits to the last bite of a meal and finally, the language which fascinates you, and every inch must be discovered and explored. How exciting this is! And the journey is still ahead of you!
Let’s assume that you would like to learn Arabic, going back to where we began with the Tales of One Thousand and One Nights, in Egypt or Morocco. Arabic is a language, which you can use over and over all around the globe, as it is, believe it or not, spoken by 240 million people as their native language and a further 50 million people (!) speak it as a second language. Your decision to learn Arabic abroad in Rabat (Morocco) or Cairo (Egypt) can only be brought forward, for professional purposes – an oriental language can be an interesting asset for your career – or private purposes – the Arabic language was formerly in particular a poetic language and it is nice to read old Arabic tales in order to delve into a world where dreams become reality.
Take a look at both places, Rabat and Cairo, which are putting more and more language students under their spell:

The capital of the Kingdom of Morocco manages to link past with present and makes up such an attractive place between the Mediterranean, the Atlantic and the Sahara. Rabat is an attractive city, which radiates calm and beauty and provides for unforgettable moments with its colourful flowers and whitewashed houses. The city skillfully shows its versatility, not only in craftwork, which is reflected in handmade ceramics, handwoven carpets, creative jewellery and leather goods, but also in its cooking, made rich with spices such as saffron, coriander or caraway, and its thé à la menthe, made out of fresh mint, sugar and green tea, which is a great pleasure for everyone to drink.

Cairo (’the Triumphant’ in Arabic) is the largest metropolitan region of North Africa and is nicknamed “The City of a Thousand Minarets”. The Nile, the longest river in the world, flows past it. In the city centre, there is a special magic as muezzins call out in rhythm, historical sites are sought out and photographed by curious visitors, mausoleums, mosques, fortresses and citadels reflect Egypt as a micro-world, and not forgetting the romantic Old Town with its Islamic architecture, which was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1979 due to its beauty and historical value. Prepare to be captivated!
